Greetings to everyone visiting this site. I'm so happy to see that someone has finally taken the intiative to start a Midpark web site for the class of 1981. It will be interesting to see the comments that get posted. Since Michael has so generously donated his time to putting this together, maybe we can hope that we will start the ball rolling on a 25-year reunion. All in favor vote YES!

Hi group. A 25 year Midpark High School 1981 class reunion sounds great. I wasn't able to make the 20 due to an Air Force commitment, but I'm "retired" now. Bob

Hi everyone! I had fun at our 13th year reunion and look forward to a 25th reunion (I can help out). I see and talk to the Midpark High School 1981 classmates every once in a while, but it will be nice to get everyone together. I haven't moved too far since high school living in Strongsville with my wife, Sue, and three kids... one of each kind :) My parents and sisters still live in Middleburg Hts. Take care. Drop me an email if you want. -Tom P.S. "Sadie Bell" is our mutt... oops, I mean our pocket Beagle. We named her after Sadie Bell Kerslake... a distant relative from long ago that I never knew.

Hello! Great to hear from some fellow 1981 Midpark classmates. Couldnt make the 13th, but excited about a possible 25th. Busy with kids, farm, work, living in Hiram. Freshman daughter Bridget was second at state in the 1600m this spring!! Saw Midpark had a high jumper and 4x1 team that qualified. Keep it going Mike, thanks!!

Greetings from Carmel (thats Carmel, IN. pronounced like the candy). I didn't make the 6th nor the 13th Midpark 1981 high school class reunion. Based on the trend we should be having a 23rd reuion? I hope all have been well since last we were all together in the summer of 81'. I have been living in Indianapolis/Carmel for the past 13 years. I married a Catholic School teacher named Linda. kind of funny since I wasn't much into studing. We have 3 great kids, 2 sons and a daughter. I am only in Cleveland about 3-4 times a year, would like to get back there more but living gets in the way as we all know. Thanks Mike for the message board, its been long over due, especially for us out-of-towners. Take care. Anyone, feel free to send me an email or look me up if passing through Indianapolis. -- See ya soon.

Hello all, from Winchester, Virginia. Since I am not as up on websites building as others, I am glad to see Mike take that initiative. I had a great time at the 13th reunion and am also looking forward to our 25th in 2006. I am willing to help out as much as possible, despite living in Virginia. My home phone number is 540-545-4678...or just email me:-). I am currently working at the Air Traffic Control Systems Command Center in Herndon, Virginia. Been married for 15 years with two daughters, one a freshman and the other in eigth grade. Man does time fly...it seems like I was in my first year at Midpark high school...well, just yesterday and now I have a daughter there! Life is crazy and very busy, but I will not miss out on a chance to see the great people of the Class of 1981. Thanks again Mike for getting the ball rolling!!

Hi Everyone- I heard about this Midpark 81 website from Rosalie. This is so neat. It is fun to read how everyone is doing. We ended up buying my parent's house in Middleburg, so now my kids are going to the same school I went to. I have 5 children ages 13,12,11,9 and 3. Four girls and a boy. I work part time at the Rec. Center. I would love to see a Midpark 25th reunion. Look forward to reading more messages. Thanks for setting this up.

What a fun find this Midpark 1981 website is! Brought back so many memories. I'm living in Phoenix AZ with my husband and two boys (13 and 10). Working at a hospital as an IT analyst and also back at school (again!!) The Midpark High School '81 class reunion sounds great - I'd love an excuse to come back to Ohio for a visit

No, Mike, he wasn't #5 he was #2. I just really enjoyed having children and wanted a big family. We will be going to Midpark's homecoming game this Friday, Ford Middle School is marching with Midpark's band so our daughter, Hannah will be marching.

Whenever this class of '81 Midpark reunion takes place, cheese MUST be on the menu. Have you tried that stuff? Damn, it's good!
2003.10.05 - 23:21:50
michael hasara
cool!...
our first post-drinking late-night message here at the midpark high school 1981 web site. dave...i think your cheese suggestion has potential. it will be passed along to the reunion planners. in the meantime, let me recommend skyline chili as a appetizing source for delicious, nutritious mounds of cheese... and lots of it. not sure if they got skylines up in cleveland yet, but its a great treat if you are in the columbus or cincinnati areas.
[take it from an official skyline ambassador.]

I was just wondering if there are any class members who haven't struck the year of 40 yet. I think the last one should get a special prize; perhaps, say, cheese.

Great job with the web page Mike! Hello to everyone. I am still in Brook Park working at a Dodge dealer as a Parts manager and also work for NASCAR in their weekly racing series program at Lorain County Speedway. I am in charge of the racing program and chief pit steward there. If you still are in need of people to help out,let me know I would be more than willing to help in any way possible.

Greetings from the west coast! I didn't even know about this Midpark site, but needed the school address, so was happy to stumble across this and see some names from the past. Hi Rosalie, Linda, Liz! Quick update: I graduated from Kent State in 1988 and moved to San Diego, CA in 1989 and have been here since then working in pharmaceutical/biotech research. Relocating to NYC in January 2004 for a position at Pfizer, Inc. I can't believe it's been almost 25 years. I would definitely be interested in attending the class of 81 reunion. Warm regards, Mark

Hello everyone. Great idea for a Midpark 1981 reunion (finally). Thanx to Mike for taking up the challenge. Has anyone considered posting a 'reunion notice' on classmates.com? Anyway, my wife Karen (of 17 yrs) and I live 1/2 hour NW of Columbus. Currently I'm an automotive engineer with Honda but we're aspiring to be Alpaca ranchers. We can discuss details at the reunion. See y'all there!

I’m glad to see so much enthusiasm from the class of ’81. I thought everyone moved to New Zealand. Me...married and living good in North Ridgeville. I’ve been looking forward to a reunion. Keep me posted, folks. Just one question for Mr. Hager...developed a cheese fetish, have you?

Yes, Morton's is a high-end steakhouse. It's right in Tower City here in Cleveland. I highly recommend it, although I've heard that Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is easily as good.

Hey Michael. You're in Columbus? Really? Where? I'm 20 minutes from Dublin. We get into Columbus quite often. Have you been to Barleys Smokehouse? Speaking about steak, have you been to Hyde Park Grille? Or the Brewery district?
2003.11.25 - 20:01:33
michael hasara
ken---i am in upper arlington. never been to barleys smokehouse...thats on 33 right? hyde park is very good. but i gotta say that i get to skyline chili on hilliard-rome road at least 2 or 3 times a week. good stuff.

Next year i'm frying the bird.I heard it tastes great. Have any of you guys done that yet? Hey,I wanted to ask Ken if he still had the awesume buick GS he was driving in the early 80's.REGAS

Hey Jim Wow! Good memory! They say that is the 2nd thing to go as you grow old. I can't remember what the 1st thing was, though. The Buick was sold off to get enough cash for down payment on the 1st house . It was fun while I had it. Don't you know muscle car prices shot up shortly after I sold her. Just my luck.

Hi everyone. Got a message for Jim - I've fried 3 turkeys, a chicken, and a giant batch of wings in one of those propane deep fryers (but not all at the same time, of course). Yes, it is great. Just keep an eye on the temperature - I mean, don't even leave the thing for 5 minutes. Anything over 350 degrees and your bird starts turning black. Other than temperature control, it's really easy. Juiciest turkey you'll ever eat. In fact, since I fried my first bird I've become the family bird cooker every bird-cookin' holiday (I get to stand out in the cold while everyone else if socializing). On second thought don't get a fryer if you know you're gonna be the cook. Bob's got the right idea.

Mike, do you (or did you) have an office in the Short North in Columbus? When I was in law school at OSU, I lived in the Greystone apartments and thought I saw your name on one of the buildings near there. I hope we can get our act together for a reunion. The 13th was fun except I was 3 days past my due date with my first kid, so had other things on my mind. My fourth is due in February, but I should have plenty of time to recover before a reunion!

hi suzanne!
glad to have you aboard. please pass the word about this site to anyone you know from midpark 1981 class. 2.5 years should be plenty of time to plan a memorable 25th reunion event. even for our bunch of misfits.

yes...i had an architecture office in the short north from 1993 to 1996. then i moved it to the brewery district near gibbys [the patio] for another 5 or 6 years. i remember the greystone apartments not being too far from my short north office. very dark gray stone building [surprise].

i like the website but after reading the posts i had to go dig in the basement so i could place a face with a name in the yearbook , mike do you do residential or comm. architecture .

mike:
i do residential architecture. large estate houses. my web site is www.hasara.com. however...i am doing more web design these days. my web design site is www.moshbox.com.
i thought about putting small pics next to everyones names here. but i was afraid it might deter so people from posting. as i upgrade this site, i will create some way to get the names related to the faces. i know i have to grab my yearbook too...and even with that...there are some people who are not in the yearbook like john fortune.

Most amazing. Type in "Midpark" on a search engine and look what pops up. Seeing some of the "old" names brought a smile. Living in Nashville, TN you don't really get to see Midpark Alumni, and that 25th reunion sounds like it might be worth coming back for. Now I'm going to have to try and find that yearbook. Thanks Michael for taking care of the 1's and 0's on this site!

Hello all. Looking forward to a 23rd, 25th, whatever! Will help if needed. The 13th was a lot of fun. Living in Valley City with a wife and 3 children (G10, B8, B5). Stay in touch with some Midpark 1983 grads, but have lost touch with most of the '81s. 40th was a surprise part at Dave & Busters - sensory overload! All for now.

Eric Neumann told me about this site so I just had to check it out. After transfering 5 times I've been living in KY (be nice) for about 12 years. Married (for now), boy(7) and a girl(11). Twin sister Anne now in Chicago, married NK. Also keep up with Ted Johnson, who, after traveling the world, currently resides in Kenai, Alaska. I'll pass on the web site info and see if we can get them to join in. Scott

Hi everyone! This is a very cool thing you've created, Mike! It's great for stirring up old memories. I moved back to Cleve. 10 yrs ago after SC & Boston. I'm married, only have 4 legged children. My husband & I own some local coffeehouses and a wine bar, but I work for State Farm in Parma Hts for a real paycheck :o) - I keep in touch w/Bob Ghinder - I'll let him know about this site. Does anyone know where Karen Pero is?
2004.04.16 - 16:06:44
Robert Ghinder
Hello everyone! Maureen Conway forwarded this to me. She is one of the few Midpark grads with whom I still keep in touch. I also chat with Mark Domann on occasion via email who coincidentally works for the same company where I have been for the past 6 years. Mark was one of my first friends at C.A. Thomas Elementary School almost 35 years ago, but we lost touch through most of our teen and adult lives. I work as a computer software engineer/administrator at Pfizer (pharmaceutical company) in Groton, Connecticut. (I split my time between there and my home in Cleveland.) I also have a summer weekend job "just for kicks" bartending on a historic steam train in beautiful southeastern Connecticut. Always one to travel, I've lived overseas twice since high school and spent my 40th birthday looking for new adventures in Costa Rica. Anyone know where Alice Conley is? She was married and last I heard was living in West Virginia, but I've lost touch.

Love the website, Mike. I do feel old reading all these posts from everyone. Would love a reunion - I missed the last 2 due to pregnancies. Will be married 20 yrs in May, have 4 girls. Been living in Dayton for the past 9 yrs. My oldest is heading to college this fall. Hey Bob & Maureen, how about a choir reunion? Ya up for some Java Jive?

Wow. A kid in college. So who's got the oldest kid out there? I think I can claim the youngest - 11 days-old!

Just came across this site - what fun! I am surprised at how many names I actually recognize. I've been in Atlanta for 5 years teaching high school math, but will be moving to London this summer with my husband, a school librarian, and 8 year old daughter to work at the American School in London. I am still playing softball (though maybe now it will be cricket!) - any of my Meteor teammates out there?

Hi everyone - I just googled my name, and thanks to Judi McLaughlin - found all of you! I'm in Cincinnati, land of the cicada invasion of 2004 - they're actually kind of cute - just really loud. I'm here with my husband, daughter (who loves to throw cicadas) and my dog (who loves to eat them). I had my midlife crisis 4 years ago - quit accounting after 12 years, went to massage therapy school (which I do part-time) and had a baby. I decided that was enough change and left it at that! I loved going to the 13 year reunion - I really hope there is a 25th!

Just found this site today, It was fun reading the postings. I don't remember a single person!! Maybe because I went to Polaris also and was not there all day. I would like to know when the next reunion will be since I was not at the last two. I live in the southwestern part of Virginia(coal mining area), In a small town of about 6500 people called Richlands. I moved here in November after graduation. I have been married for 22 years now and have two children, Joshua almost 9 and Gabrielle almost 7. I work for Alcoa Wheel products in Lebanon VA. Been there 7 years now as a maintenance supervisor. The only person I have talked to since I moved was Mike Sajewicz, He lives in Texas. Thanks for the site.

Hi Everyone. Found this site by accident and recognized several of the names. I'm not actually a Midpark graduate (forgive me) but went to C.A. Thomas from K through 3rd grade. Had we not moved, I would have been in your class. I keep in pretty close contact with Mark Domann (just visited him in NYC this summer). Just thought I'd say hi to any C.A. Thomas alums. I was just by there two weeks ago showing my children where I went to school! I'm married to a 1st grade teacher and have two children (girl 10, boy 5). We live in Boise, Idaho and I work for Hewlett-Packard. If anyone remembers, drop me an email! Would also love to get copies of class pictures. I have one with Mrs. Borisa but that's it. Take care!

Hello all,,,,seems everyone is beginning to be tracked down these day's..I was just looking at our last school paper that states "Take it on the run class of 1981"...I traveled on and off for the last few years, but still call the Cleveland area my home. so if there is any help that I can give to getting a 20th going, I would be more than happy to help, just drop me a line. Hope everyone is enjoying the best life has to offer, our class deserved it!

Hello! What a great site! I am looking forward to a reunion, hard to believe its almost 25 years...I don't feel that old! (Hopefully you don't either!) I live in Brook Park with my husband and 2 kids, 2 dogs and a bird. My son is a freshman this year at Midpark! It was strange walking the hallowed halls again, but it brought back alot of fun memories! I've already added this site to my fav's -- it's wonderful to read that so many of the '81 alums are doing so well!

Greetings from the Pacific NW! We don't have the same humidity here in Oregon as in Ohio, but I would brave a summer time visit for a 25th reunion. Currently a WAHM after a 16 year career in ophthalmic photography, I'm married with two girls, a GSP and a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Still flattening my vowels like a good midwesterner, cheers.

Great Website Mike! Found it looking for info for my son who will be attending Midpark next year. I live in Brook Park with my two children Anthony 14, and Alexis 11. And work as a Computer Systems Analyst for Keybank. It would be great to have a runion. I would be interesting in helping and will definitely pass the word on to fellow classmates I run into. Karen! Ken! I can't believe you folks remember such details from so long ago! That's so cool! I'm afraid that since my job requires 147% of my brain every day, I've forgotten most of those neat details of our school years. But I've never forgotten friends and classmates, no matter how out of touch we've become. Thanks for the memories...

Hi, everyone. John Seldin (class of 1982) told me about the Midpark website. It's a hoot reading all of the mail. I'm gratified to see so many people contributing to the forum. (Well done, Mike H.) Having moved back to Cleveland after 8 years in Ann Arbor, it felt so strange to drive around in Middleburg/Brookpark and see "Beer Acres" (what is now Baldwin Reserve), Big Creek pkwy, the wood next to MTD (now the County Health Dept.), and what's left of Southland. I kept asking myself, "What happened to...?" This forum is a terrific way to reconnect. I'm in administration with the Cleveland Dept of Public Health with a joint teaching appointment at Case. My wife, Mimi, originally from Lakewood, works at Southwest General in surgery. We're thrilled to be home again, although I do miss U-Michigan hockey and the great fishing and hunting opportunities. I look forward to seeing everyone at the 25th reunion. RE: 6th grade @ Koeppe. Mrs. Peoples padding around in her dearfoam slippers, Average White Band LP's during lunch, 6th grade split with Mr. Vale, mudbowl (football) on Saturdays... all good memories.

Hello everyone! Great to see a site that will help us reconnect. Vitals - Married (happily) to Kimberly, 2 girls, Amelia Joy (8) and Ruthie (9). Yes, it took awhile to get started! Living in Southwestern Virginia, near Roanoke. I'm a lawyer in a small firm. Between kids & work & church, stay pretty busy, like everyone else in the world. A 25th would be a blast. My parents moved away from Ohio several years ago so i haven't been back to the Middleburg Hts. area in about 10 years. It had changed a lot at that time, can't imagine the changes now. Glad i found the site! Mike, thanks for the site. Karen, hope all is well. Rosie, nice to see the apple didn't fall far from the tree. I'll put the site on my check often list! Ronnie

Mike, you're absolutely right - Raub Elementary Class of 1975 does rule! You're really digging into the archives, aren't you? Our 3rd Grade teacher, Mrs. Brickley, is now on the Board of Education for Strongsville Schools. Great job, Mike! It's a blast reading all the comments!

Hi Mike, Greetings from South Korea! A few months ago I dug out our 1981 yearbook and enjoyed the memories. By chance I found the website while I had down time in Seoul. Good deal! Can you expand on memories from Raub School? I remember Ralph Miller and Mr. Bosely. Those were great days playing football on the playground and battleball in Gym class. Do you remember when Chuck Liskay drilled one of those little red rubber balls at some kid playing elimination in Gym? The kid ducked (thankfully) and the ball shattered a window facing the little playgorund. The class was in awed in reverence while Mr. Olalla the Gym teacher was stunned in unbelief.

hi david!...welcome aboard.
i remember on the big playground they used to have some kind of 'track' meets. we ran dashes on that straight stretch of 'driveway' that exited to the west corner of the playground. there were 'lanes' painted on the ground. there was also a 'softball throw'...i remember luciano ?stavoli? was the champ at tossing that softball. there was that giant slide and the always dangerous monkey bars....and a giant swing set. i seem to remember a kid named danny perotti too. i can also remember that that windows of the school had a soft putty on the outside used to hold the glass in. kids were always sticking their fingers in it. its weird what things you start to remember.

Hello, everyone! I've been on the site a few times and finally had some time to write a message. To Lynn Lancaster: I agree with you...planning the 5th and the 13th from out of state was quite a challenge...We both talked about planning a 20th, but were too busy to take it on....I'm all for passing the baton on.... (By the way Lynn, we had a few $$$ left from the last reunion....any chance you invested it in oil? It would give the planners of the 25th a good head start :) As for my own update..I'm married with a one year old boy and a two year old girl and currently live in Philadelphia. I stayed in retail after leaving Macy's and Charming Shoppes and now manage merchandising, design and product development for David's Bridal. My parents still live in Middleburg, and I usually am in town a few times each year, although I haven't really seen anyone since the last reunion. This would be a great get together. I look forward to hearing about all of the plans. As far as the site, big change since the last time I check in, nice job Mike! Ramona

Hello Everyone! Many of you may not remember me since I was attending Polaris the last 2yrs of HS. I remember many of you though from Midpark and Ford JHS. Many of my friends were from that Grindstoneless school Berea!! No Pun!! I am an Engineer/tech and run my own Business doing pro sound and recording. Married with 3 children and having all kinds of fun since I relocated back to the area from NC in 96. Anyway it's cool to see this site up and hope to see you at the 25th. a big component of a successful reunion will be to make contact with as many 1981 midpark classmates as possible. i know that many of you here are members at sites like classmates.com and reunion.com and others.
if you are...please post the midpark1981.com web site address and send emails/messages to the 1981 grads there so they can get their butts to our site and in the pipeline for reunion planning and information.
thanks!

Great site, just found out about it today. I didn't make the earlier reunions but will make a point of attending this one. 25 YEARS ! IT's got to make you feel old! I'm still living in the area, Brunswick. I'm married for 17 years with 3 daughters 16,13, and 8. My wife and I started our own business 12 years ago and currently have 16 employees. Life is good and I look forward to seeing everyone. I will pass this site along to the several old classmates that I'm still in touch with.

I don't know where to start ! I just ran across this site when I Googled my name. I read every entry and I have memories to share with most every one of you! (mostly humerous! Does anybody Know where I can get some of those cinnamon rolls that the cafeteria used to serve? It was great to hear from Weeenz! also, we had a small Raub Elementary reunion a few years back Steve Leicher, Steve Matia, Charles Zanny, Chuck Miska, Mike Ruprecht and Kevin Morris, but I didn't see Mike Loucek, and I reminded a few guys that they still owe me a piece of string... I also recall the window putty and moo juice! I just retired and moved down to Fla. with my wife of 15 years (Jeanmarie) and 2 kids, Alyssa age 12 and David (DJ) age nine! We're a few minutes away from my in-laws and I'm doing some business down here. Please Keep me posted on the reunion. Rick

It doesn't seem like 25 years. Well, heres goes, after moving to North Carolina in 1982 and some how making it through college I married a very tollerant woman(22 years and going strong) and we had 3 boys. Thw twins are 21 now(yes, we had them very, very quickly) and sophmores in college. They are both on lacrosse scholarships which is nice due to fact that 2 in private college at the same time should be considered cruel and unusual punishment. The third is Turner our 10 year old. My wife is a 1st grade teacher and we are still in Charlotte. I am looking forward to the reunion and getting her up to Cleveland. I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to getting back in touch with old friends.

Hello to everyone who may remember me! I just discovered this site. What a great idea! (Many may not remember me...I was quite active in the self-administered Cleveland MetroPark-Montessori program at Wallace Lake). I went to Polaris (carpentry)my last 2 years of high school, then Tri-C'83, John Carroll Univ.'85, CWRU-Law'88. I've had a solo practice (civil/criminal litigation, etc.) in Independence, OH., and ran for Mayor of Maple Hts (won!) in 2003, which is presently a huge challenge! Especially after reading about my classmate's families, I think it is time for fatherhood (my girlfriend thinks I procrastinate).Though I sometimes regret waiting this long, I think I will do a better job now. Any advice? Join me for a cheese party in the smoking lounge next to the cafeteria! Though my schedule is busy, I would love to help for the reunion however I can! Email:mciaravino@aol.com
